Brownsville California
Free Friday Night events with $10
dinners with live music and vendors
starting on Friday June 9th from
4:00-8:00 pm. We plan to host 18
Friday night dinner & music events
from June 9 -October 13.
We are currently searching for
talent to book for your
entertainment at the events. Here is
some info about our music venue for
the events.
Our series is a small free community
event outdoors on Friday evenings.
The venue is on public property in
Brownsville, CA where the Mountains
Top Coffee Shop & Event Center is
located, next to the medical center,
although we are not connected to
Sutter Health, other than getting a
generous monetary donation to pay
musicians for the live music during
these summer events. It is a small
music venue with a stage and
stagehands to help with the sound
system and lights.
We are a 401(3)c non-profit all
volunteer organization providing free
activities for the Yuba foothills
communities to come out and enjoy
together after being separated from
others during the Covid pandemic.
There are new residents here who
moved after the Camp Fire in
Paradise & others, and there is not
much in the way of places to go and
things to do as a way to meet the
neighbors. We also welcome kids and
adults since it is a family event. We
don’t have a license to sell alcohol so
we don’t serve any, but it’s ok for
people to bring their own.
The farmers market goes on across
the road during the same time as the
dinners & music. People can walk
from one to the other as both are
free of charge & the farmers
market sells beer & wine.
Another goal is to provide activities
to attract visitors from neighboring
counties & we advertise our events
on Facebook and post flyers & we are
trying to do more with radio &
newspapers to reach out to Penn
Valley, Nevada City, Grass Valley,
Auburn, Yuba City, Oroville & Chico.
We hope to increase attendance this
summer & since it is our 2nd year &
the community is aware now, we think
more people will come to hear the
music. The attendance last year
ranged from 40-100. Capacity? (It’s
a 6-acre wooded park with seating
available all around - & we encourage
people to bring lawn chairs).
There will also be vendors on the
property selling foods & wares that
will also bring in more people. We
provide the dinner we are selling the
night of the performance, with
water or lemonade, to each musician
in the band for free. We use dinner
tickets and we would provide the
number of tickets agreed on to the
band when they arrive. We don’t
provide lodging but there is a motel
in Brownsville. May 6 Fiesta Dinner
@ community center.
